INTRO Confusion

Unanswered Question
Oct 11th, 2007

Hi,

Im soon to be taking the INTRO exam for CCNA, after talking to a lad who recently took it, he said that there was no subnetting questions, or simulators in is exam!

I was led to believe they were in the exam.

Anyone else found this or did you get them?

Which version of the intro exam? The new CCENT flavor, or the one that is ending soon?

The new CCENT flavor will definitely have subnetting questions and a simulator in the exam from what I've been told.

thanks,

Im not 100% sure about that exam. But for some reason, I do seem to remember that one NOT having a simulator on it. But don't quote me on that if I'm wrong. :)

but if you take the "new" intro exam (aka ICND 1), you'll get the CCENT cert to start with vs. no actual cert by taking the old Intro exam.

just a thought.

Hi Andrew,

You'll definitely get questions on subnetting, in-fact you'll be thoroughly tested.. Some questions might not be direct subnetting question but you will need subnetting knowledge to troubleshoot the simulation questions you'll get along with other questions. Subnetting is the bread and butter of a Network engineer, and Cisco test subnetting on almost all network certs.

Be very prepared, don't be suprised to find Simulation questions either
