frame-relay question

Hi,

I already know the answer to this, but just want to check.... with frame-relay, is there any way to multiplex both circuits and use them with 1 dlci and one IP address, or 2 dlci's and share an IP address?

Thanks,

Lisa G

Here's a couple of interesting-looking features. I haven't read the chapters yet, so I don't know whether you need the co-operation of the service provider:

Please make a clearer example, because it's not clear what you want to do and what problem you are trying to solve.

can 2 T1's be bonded using frame-relay encapsulation?

In that case I really would use PPP multilink.

Lisa,

I suppose if they ran between the same two routers you could try putting them on point-to-point subinterfaces and then bundling the subinterfaces as a PPP multilink. I've never tried that though.

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to ask the service provider to double the CIR?

I researched that, PPP multilink over frame only works with one circuit (doh, not sure what the feature is good for, then, really.

I'm trying to fix a problem that I just inherited.

Thanks!

OK Lisa, that's useful to know. It would interesting to know what happens if you try to do it. I'll put it in the long list of "things to do in the lab some time".

Do you want to tell us more about the problem? Maybe we can brainstorm it.

hahaha :-)

that is a long list, yes? actually mine has gotten smaller as I've gotten older :-)

i was hoping there was a feature that i didn't know about in regards to the frame-relay

Thanks!!

Thanks.... I had actually just opened a TAC case and gotten to the same place, although it looked like it was FRF.15.

THANKS MUCH!!
