ONT Exam Prep

Unanswered Question

I'm preparing for the CCNP ONT exam and finding myself feeling lost. I'm not so much technically lost as I am left wondering what it is I should be studying. I've got the official ONT book by Amir Ranjbar. I've made it through chapter 7 several times and am left wondering what I should have learned (beyond AutoQoS).

Reading the Exam description I think I've found what's bothering me. The description is filled with Describe bullets as opposed to Configure and Implement bullets like the BSCI or BCMSN exams.

From someone who's been through it, what should I expect of the ONT as compared to the BCMSN and BSCI ?

I have this problem too.

Hi doseyg,

ONT is more related to add on services manly QoS that you need to use it over your switches infrastructure or routers like

Describe Cisco VoIP implementations.

Describe QoS considerations.

Describe DiffServ QoS implementations.

Describe traffic policing and traffic shaping (i.e., traffic conditioners).

Describe Control Plane Policing.

Implement AutoQoS.

Explain the functions and operations of AutoQoS.

Describe the SDM QoS Wizard.

Implement WLAN security and management.

BSCI is covering routing protocols and BCMSN is mainly covering switching
