One arm routing

Hi all,

Anyone heard what is one arm routing?

Any link show the sample ?

Hi,

One arm routing is a router that routes traffic between VLANs. Operates in the old 80/20 rules which means that 80% of the traffic is local to the VLAN and doesn't need routing while 20% of the traffic needs to route between VLANs

It has a single point of failure and most of the time causes bottlenecks/congestion.

Also known as "routing on stick" is an old method of routing between VLANs in a L2 switch. However, L3 switches has solved this with their mls capabilities. But those who cant afford L3, this is still a reasonable solution.
