CCNP to CCIP

Unanswered Question

Hi,

If I have an active CCNP and would like to complete CCIP, do I still need to take "642-901 OR 642-892"?

I was thinking that since I have an active CCNP, I just need to take "642-642, 642-661, and 642-611" OR "642-642 and 642-691" although I got my CCNP not taking either "642-901 OR 642-892" - old CCNP.

Regards,

Dandy

I have this problem too.

hi Dandy,

you can check at

http://www.cisco.com/go/certifications/login/

(login with your CSCO... id)

under "certification progress" you get the info

under CCIP it states for BSCI/COMPOSITE -- complete one from 642-801, 642-901, 642-891, 642-892

so you should be fine with 642-801 or 642-891 from your CCNP

QOS, BGP and MPLS and you are a CCIP :-)

hope that helps

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. My CCNP is way older than that, I know that each 642 exam is valid for 3 years. I was just thinking that for active CCNP going to CCIP there's no need to take the BSCI/COMPOSITE :) it will save us $$$ and time since as an active CCNP we should know that stuff, they may as well tell CCIE's to take the LAB for recert not the Written :)

Dandy
