Hi,

This switch WS-C2950-24 can only run SMI and not capable to run EMI.

Cisco IOS is very intelligent, even if you install EMI onto a WS-C2950-24 switch, it will only install SMI code.

Hi Sanjoy,

2950 model switch which you have will only run standard image and cannot be upgraded to enhanced image but this does not mean it will not support QOS. It will suppor tbut yes not all advance features.

You can have a look at this link which will tell you what all qos features can this switch support running SI image.
