after a format of flash filesystem. and getting ready to tftp, the switch lost power(long story) after the switch rebooted im at the switch: prompt, and cannot xmodem the ios, I keep getting xmodem denied error.

You don't say what model so here is the 2950 series procedures.

Heh, cannot believe I miss the : after xmodem.

After I got back into work today I tried again and noticed I was typing copy xmodem flash: NOT copy xmodem: flash:

Now if I can only figure out why I was able to ghost cast 30 laptops with intel NICs in just about 15 mins and why it would take over 3 hours just to ghost cast some PC's with Intel D946GZIS motherboards with onboard NICs.
