1812 router... switch ports

Hi all,

A question with regards to the 1812, I was hoping to be able to set specific mac-addresses to be able to access ports as we had done with previous switches eg:

switchport mode access

switchport port-security

switchport port-security mac-address xxxx.xxxx.xxxx

However I find no such commands in the ios, I've tried 12.4(6)T8 advK9 and also adventerprise, I've also gone through SDM and nothing along those lines either. Can anyone confirm that allowing only a specific MAC to access a specific port is do able on the 1812 ? Or is it aimed at the NAT/DHCP/Firewall side of things.

Thanks,

Steve.

Steve,

Only static port security is supported on the c18xx platforms.

The CLI is "mac-address-table secure"

Hi JG,

Thanks for the reply, it took me a couple of goes to figure out that it doesn't drop the port once a secure mac is set in the table, it just doesn't talk if a different machine is connected! It has solved my problem so thanks again !
