Getting all devices to be listed by host name and not IP

When I go to DFM -> Device Management -> Device Details I see some devices listed by Ip and some listed by full DNS name. What may be causing Cisco to not see all devices in DFM listed by DNS?

Hello, You need define a host file in the machine to resolve the IP for name.

Even if the devices are added in DNS? Shouldn't they resolve via DNS?

NO, you need create the host file to resolve name.

It is not true that you need a hosts file. I do not use a host file and all of the devices are listed by host name.

Does DCR have the devices that are listed by IP address correctly identified?

that's right, you just need to have the IP address resolved. The problem is that DFM does not update its information when once it has discovered a device by IP. So if name resolution works fine, delete one of the devices with IP and let it be rediscovered. If this is ok, do it with the bulk of the remaining IP devices.
