Catalyst 3750 stack - member switch reloading

We have a stack of 2 Cat3750G-12S connected with 2 stack cables.

IOS 12.2(40)SE

Stack is configured for routing 9 Vlans

5 of these mainly transport VOIP

1 mainly transport multicast traffic from a bunch of Bosch cameras

This stack works as a central switch for the network of 3560 access switches.

Most of the 3560 switches are connect to switch-1 in the stack. At the moment switch-2 is the master.

On some occations (sometimes weeks apart sometimes only hours) switch-1 have reloaded without any traces of a log entry suspecting a crash. Looking at the log it looks like somebody have pulled the power cable to switch-1

We have replaced the hardware once and run through IOS releases

12.2(25)SEB4

12.2(25)SEE3

and are no on 12.2(40)SE

Same thing have happened with all releases. I'm positive it's not a power problem. At the moment both switches are even connected to the same power outlet.

Seems to me it must be a traffic pattern that cause this.

Have anybody seen this phenomena? I'm hoping to get a few steps ahead on the troubleshooting before I start recording traffic from each vlan and wait for the crash......

In most cases, this problem is due to a faulty stack cable. Check the stack cable for any hardware problem.
