CCNA - Recert

Unanswered Question

Hello all, My CCNA expired a year or so ago. I need to re-certify and I am looking on Cisco's site to see exactly what I need to do to make sure I study and register for the correct test. As I understand it, to re-certify, I need to take the new CCNA test or I can take the 640-816 ICND2 test or one of the 642 series tests. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? Again, I just want to make sure I don't waste money or time when I re-certify. Thanks in advance for any replies....John

I have this problem too.

Recertification is extending the date of a certification by some more years & can only be done, with ur certification still valid. If certification expires, u r not authorised to recertify but appear it once again & get certified.

So, in ur case, u'll have to reappear & clear CCNA.
