High CPU Spikes

I noticed high utilization on a cisco6509/Sup720. Looking into the "show tech " log shows a high number of drops on the(SVI) VLAN interfaces and lots of interrupt traffic. This is probably causing switch spikes up past normal benchmarks.

What could be causing this
