My inside users use third party tools to connect to Oracle databases located in our dmz. But, when they take their laptops home and logon to the VPN, they can't connect to the databases, nor can the reach other network resources that they can reach when working from their offices. To muddy the waters further, I have one user with an older laptop and an older version of the client (4.0.3 compared to 4.8.00.0440) who has no trouble reaching the databases.
My local Cisco tech and I have gone over the config from top to bottom and can find no reason these users should not be able to connect. Could it be a problem with the client version or could it be something else entirely?
We're getting desperate to find an answer as my users can't get to the resources they need and the one older laptop is about to be replaced.
