Connection spikes on database server

Unanswered Question

I have a problem at the moment where connections from a web server to an Oracle database server (through a pix firewall) appear to be disconnecting and reconnecting at random. When the conenctions are being reconnected, they create a big spike on the database server, causing the cpu to max out for a couple of seconds.

If I run a query from my PC which is on the same lan as the database server (and hence does not pass through the firewall) through Sqlplus there are no connection timeouts.

Any ideas where to look would be great.

Thanks in advance

I have this problem too.
