Hi
I have ip address on vlan 1 on all my switchs and I want to change the scope. I have Stp running on all. I I were to go aroung chenging one by one, will it affect my live network? Does STP use Ip address at all?

STP is purely an L2 stuff, so your IP readdressing will have absolutely no impact on it. The only interaction between STP and IP that comes to my mind is SNMP traps;-) So nothing to worry about STP convergence in that case.

Hi Ayus,
STP being a layer 2 protocol is not related to change of ip address. Change if ip address may affect your routing table and may have an affect on layer 3 convergance but not stp.
STP will be affected if some physical port goes down and come back or if switch itself reloads or any change in stp default timers and parameters.
