c3750 layer 3 packet loss

Unanswered Question
Oct 22nd, 2007

After running for several weeks without incident, our 3750 stack that has around 20 routed vlan interfaces has developed significant pasket loss (>10%) during portions of the day.

How can I check to see if this is from resource exhaustion? Then I could decide if I should be considering trying a different template.

Setting ARP timeout to a low value seems to help the situation.

Thanks, Roger

I have this problem too.

a 3750 should handle 20 vlans without any problem at all . Not sure what your issue would be. I would start by looking at your interfaces when this is happening and see if any are running hot . Also look for interface errors with the "show int count errors" command . It shouldn't be a resource issue with that few vlans . Check stack cables are tight.
