"Write Mem" - IMPOSSIBLE

Hi all,

We have a big problem. Your support will be very helpful and welcome. I installed a cisco CISCO3825 in my company. The initial set up has been successful.

But now, I see that it's not possible to make : "write memory", "copy run start" and "show conf" commands. I noticed that "shox run config" is always allowed.

I get the following error message :"“resource busy” , ecriture failed".

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It's me again.

Bellow, the error output from the router.

SIEGE#sh config

%% Non-volatile configuration memory is being accesse, Try again later

SIEGE#sh startup

%% Non-volatile configuration memory is being accesse, Try again later

SIEGE#copy running-config startup-config

Destination filename [startup-config]?

startup-config file open failed (Device or ressource busy)

SIEGE#write mem

Destination filename [startup-config]?

startup-config file open failed (Device or ressource busy)

Try "show file descr"

This command should show which process is using the file.

Then you can use "show proc cpu" to look what process the PID belongs to.

Also, you can use the other file for your config until you resolve the issue. Like "copy run start2-config". Jus make sure it boots using the new filename.

Hope this helps.

HI, [PLS RATE if HELPS]

Problem could be because of frequent / simultaneous access to NVRAM of the router:

Trouble shooting techniq:

R#show users

There could be a second user connected via Console or Vty. Clear all of them except the line with "*".

clear command:

R#clear line

Issue show command now, there could be only one user connected to Router (ie., you).

NVRAM is now accessible, now issue the required comments.

FYI: Study the release notes for CISCO3800 Series and verify was there any Bug in IOS Versions you are Using currently and it was fixed in next release.

Hope I am Informative.
