VPN Client disconnect 422

I have been battling a 422 disconnect issue for a dozen or so end-users for a while now. Just recently it happened to me and i was able to log it. An excerpt is here:

440 20:56:40.567 10/22/07 Sev=Warning/3 CM/0xA3100027

Adapter address changed from 172.22.2.104. Current address(es): 169.254.200.204, 172.50.1.100.

I checked my local laptop event viewer as well and noticed something that occurred at the exact same time. My local wireless interface reported a 1033 Event ID; Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network. The semaphore timeout period has expired.

My lease time on my local router is set for 1 day and i just only connected to it an hour or so earlier. It seems this event is causing my vpn disconnect (which is understandable). What I'm trying to figure out is why this only happens on the wireless interface. If i connect wired to this same network i can stay on for days without interruption.

Also, why is the wireless network interface trying to renew its address after only an hour or so when the lease time is specified as 24 hours?

Do you see any DHCP client activity in the DHCP logs?
