I have 2 new 1841s and am trying to establish a vpn connection in a test environment. The test setup is as follows:
Cisco 8 port 2940 switch with 3 vlans
vlan 1 has laptop and DR_VPN_TX inside interface on 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.253 respectively
vlan 2 has PC and DR_VPN_CA inside interface on 18.104.22.168 and 22.214.171.124 respectively.
vlan 3 has both outside interfaces of 1841. TX on 10.1.2.1 and CA on 10.4.1.2
I configured the VPN site to site using SDM on each router and it comes up with no problems. When I try to ping each routers inside interface from inside the other network, I loose 50% of the packets. When I ping the PC I was getting perfect responses until I turned the routers off.
Also, when I attempted to RDC into the pc from the laptop, it loads as if it is going to work but never gets to a logon screen, erroring saying there may be a network error.
I am including the configs of both routers. Neither router is connected to the internet as yet and the ip addresses are arbitrary so I have not bothered to edit them except the key.
Ultimately, I am using the setup to facilitate a DR site so reliable connectivity is a must.
Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
