WAE positioning with 6513

i have a question in the positioning of the WAE device in integrating with our network (I will be using the InlineGroup not the WCCP). we have a 6513 for both HQ and Branch that serves as our router and LAN switch.

My question is: If I will be integrating the WAE 612 (using the InlineGroup Ports) in both HQ and Branch office, what will be the connection? should I make a trunk port from the 6513 to the WAE device then a trunk port again from the WAE device to the 6513?

6513---trunk---WAE---trunk---back to 6513?

please advice.

ben

Ben,

The link between the 2 switches should be configured as if the WAE is not there. If that link is a dot1q trunk, it does not terminate on the WAE, per se. Traffic is transparently intercepted as it passes through the WAE. You can also configure which VLANs are included for interception (the default evaluates traffic on all VLANs).
