Consultive Transfer on 7911G / 7912G

Hi All,

I have a little issue with a new installation; the customer requires the ability to do consultive transfers but, unfortunately, have been sold a number of 7911G IP Phones for the operators. They can transfer but it's blind only - they dial the extension to which they wish to transfer and are then disconnected.

I think that this is because the 7911G only has one line button. I tested this on my 7940 by removing the second button and the same happened. The ephone-dn is set up as dual-line and when I enable the second button on the 7940 I can then do consultive transfers but with only one button defined it only does blind transfers.

Am I right in assuming that you need a phone with two line buttons? I tried overlays, monitor and combined buttons but that had no effect.

I guess the question is can 7911G phones do consultive transfers and, if so, what am I doing wrong?

Appreciate any feedback

Cheers,

John

Yes, they can do consult transfer as long the ephone-dn is dual-line.

Do you have "trnasfer-system full-consult' unde telephony-service ?
