Hi all,

I have configured trunk between 6509 and HP C-Class blade server which has two CBS3020 switches. On both the switches I see input and crc errors but no errors on 6509 ports:

5 minute input rate 70000 bits/sec, 69 packets/sec

5 minute output rate 25000 bits/sec, 18 packets/sec

892571 packets input, 144021048 bytes, 0 no buffer

Received 321702 broadcasts (0 multicast)

0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles

945 input errors, 945 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored

0 watchdog, 283338 multicast, 0 pause input

0 input packets with dribble condition detected

436078 packets output, 61800268 bytes, 0 underruns

I have correct native vlans set and both ends set to full duplex.

Config on 3020 trunk interface:

interface GigabitEthernet0/24

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk

switchport nonegotiate

duplex full

spanning-tree link-type point-to-point

Any ideas?

Thanks

SK

Never mix a hard set and an auto command on the same interface. For example, the speed auto and duplex full commands should never be issued on the same interface

If the speed and duplex settings are correct, yet the CRC errors continue to increase, perform these steps:

Verify that the connected Network Interface is good . Verify that the cable connecting the devices is good, using a cable tester or by replacing it with a known good cable.

Verify that no interference is occurring on the line.
