c7600 & ISSU - Unable to reserve sufficient memory for pre-download

Hi All,

I have tried to upgrade c7600 12.2.33 SRB1 -> SRB2 using ISSU procedure, I have:

3 48 CEF720 48 port 10/100/1000mb Ethernet WS-X6748-GE-TX SAL1040432R

4 24 CEF720 24 port 1000mb SFP WS-X6724-SFP SAL10414P1F

5 2 Supervisor Engine 720 (Hot) WS-SUP720-3BXL SAL1112JZXY

6 2 Supervisor Engine 720 (Active) WS-SUP720-3BXL SAL1113KG8W

but IOS marked line cards for hard reset:

Oct 19 08:31:44.454 METDST: SP-STDBY: PREDNLD: Unable to reserve sufficient memory for pre-download, marking the card [3] for hard reset

Oct 19 08:31:44.454 METDST: SP-STDBY: PREDNLD: Unable to reserve sufficient memory for pre-download, marking the card [4] for hard reset

Should I have DFC installed on line cards?

all the linecards need to have minimum of 512MB of memory for the preload to work and the corresponding ISSU. If you continue to do ISSU with 256MB of memory on the linecard, those linecards would be hard-reset during the process.

So you may want to upgrade your linecards with 512MB of memory.
