Config for 2821 & WIC-1ADSL on AT&T ADSL

Unanswered Question

We have a Cisco 2821 with the WIC-1ADSL which I am attempting to setup *without* PPPoE, and have had no success after following various configuration examples here on Cisco's site. I have had no trouble in the past setting this same hardware up with PPPoE.

I have confirmed the line is working with a Netopia in bridged ethernet mode so multiple static IP's could be used.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a configuration for this setup?

I have this problem too.

Should be like this, what do you have?

int atmX/Y

no ip address

int atm0.1 point-to-point

pvc z/k

encapsulation aal5snap

bridge-group 1

int bvi1

ip address ..

bridge irb

bridge 1 protocol ieee

bridge 1 route ip

Below are the relevent portions of the current config:

=====

bridge irb

bridge 1 protocol ieee

bridge 1 route ip

interface ATM0/0/0

no ip address

no atm ilmi-keepalive

dsl operating-mode auto

interface ATM0/0/0.1 point-to-point

no ip proxy-arp

bridge-group 1

pvc 0/35

encapsulation aal5snap

interface BVI1

ip address 76.x.x.129 255.255.255.248

=====

ATM0/0/0, ATM0/0/0.1, and BVI1 are all up & up. PVC also shows up. However, I'm still unable to pass traffic to the gateway at 76.x.x.134.

Any ideas?

Any chance they are using aal5mux on the PVC?

That would require "encapsulation aal5mux bridge".

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

The Netopia was using AAL5SNAP, but I went ahead and tried AAL5MUX IP on the 2821, to no avail. AAL5MUX Bridge was not available, as configured.

That is strange.. which exact IOS are you using ?

can you try disabling ip route-cache under interface and "debug ip packet", "debug arp", are interface counters increasing ?
