Line Privacy - CME/UC500 Series

Unanswered Question

In my research, I was unable to find line privacy supported in CME/500, but I did find it supported in Call Manager. Does anyone know if this can be done in CME/UC500?

Hi Jay,

Sadly, as you have discovered Privacy for "Shared Lines" is not yet supported on either CME or UC500.

Sorry about that,

Rob

Rob,

Thanks for the response. Well, to add to the confusion, I was able to obtain a CM/CME descriptions matrix rev 2.0 that indicates under line features, privacy support for both CME 4.0 and CM 6.0 (plus all older releases).

I will try to enable it in our lab, until I see it work…

Hi Jay,

That is curious isn't it :) Generally in CCM Barge and Privacy are referred to in conjunction with each other. Privacy prevents a Shared Line user from "Barging" in on an active call. Maybe they are referring to something else as Barge is not supported on CME either.

This is an excellent reference;

Hope this helps!
