CVP: Comprehensive mode, H323 gatekeeper or SIP proxy

Hi All;

Going to use CVP in Comprehensive mode, so I can use the CallManager as H.323 Gatekeeper (with H.323 image) or there is a special needed gatekeeper?

Also, we have currently an AS5400HPX having an IOS 12.2(15)T14, if I installed the IOS 12.4(6)XT or 12.4(15)T then I can use it to act as "Ingress and voicexml voice gateway"?

Any help?

An IOS gatekeeper is required for CVP Comprehensive - UCM cannot replace this function.

As for the AS5400HPX, it can function as both the ingress and VXML gateway, but you need to make sure the IOS revision AND feature set are correct.

The feature set needs to be "IP PLUS". The version is dependent on CVP version:

If it is CVP 4.0, you must use 12.4(15)T or later T.

If it is 3.1, you must use 12.4(11)T or later T.

There are few exceptions to this - performance and even basic functions of CVP can simply not work if the incorrect IOS release is used.
