PIX 7.2.x newer than 8.0.x? and code bloat!

Unanswered Question

Curious as to why the 7.2.2 and 7.2.3 code for the PIX have fresher release dates than the 8.0.x code? What would be the reasons to "upgrade" to the 8.0 code?

Third question: I know there are LOTS of new features in the 7.x code over 6.x, but talk about code bloat! 6.3.5 code ~ 2.1Mb in size, 7.1.1 is 6.2Mb, 7.2.1 code is 8.2Mb! (I just realized that when I tried to upgrade from 7.2.1 to 7.2.3 to try to "fix" an intermittent failover problem, no space for 2 versions!) It makes me very nervous when I need to delete the running .bin file in order to load a newer version...

Why is there nothing in the documentation or release notes describing this? (That I could find, anyway)
