Problems with bre-connect stability

I'm having a simple bre-connect configuration as follows:

6500A#

!

vlan 70

!

!

interface ATM9/0/0.70 point-to-point

pvc 0/70

bre-connect 70

!

!

Then I transit this vlan to another device where I assign it as an access port:

6500B#

!

vlan 70

!

!

int fa 0/1

switchport

swtichport access vlan 70

switchport mode access

!

The problem I'm having is that I'm running OSPF over this path on the CPEs. In some situations I can not ping from CPE to CPE. If I create an "interface vlan 70" in router A I get pings back but then OSPF does not work. If I remove the "int vlan 70", then, I get pings and OSPF until the next time when it stop forwarding traffic again.

Anyone has any idea on what might be a workaround with this issue? Anything missing?
