RMON 1841

Hi

My customers ask me about RMON in 1841, he want enable rmon in interface, but the 1841 don't support (IP BASE and SP SERVICES), version 12.4 T

In documentation (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6441/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a008030c776.html) there are the possible of command (rmon [native | promiscuos] in interface level, but in our 1841 don't have.

Somebody can help us?

You can only activate RMON collections on ESW interfaces on the 1841. For example, if you have an HWIC-4ESW, you can enable rmon promiscuous on all four of the switched ethernet interfaces, but not on the routed Fa0/0 and Fa0/1.

But, what can i do if my customer want enable rmon in fa0/0 and fa0/1? He must buy an ESW interface?

The 2800,3700 and 3800 it same characteristic?

How can i to resolve it?

You will have to use an external RMON probe if you want traffic stats for those interfaces. Alternatively, you can use NetFlow. The 2800 and 3800 devices have the same limitation.
