Can anyone recommend any good SIP providers for the UC 500 system? I have been looking into these lately and many seem to require that they provide the high-speed internet access. Are there some that do not?
Thanks,
Matt

With SIP trunking, Voice gets transmitted over IP. To ensure good quality voice, you will need to have enough bandwidth. Typical g711ulaw calls consume 80kbps per voice call.
UC500 has been tested with Cbeyond. Interop tests are being carried out with AT&T and Level3. It has not been tested with other providers, but they should work as well.
Thanks,

The Cisco recommended SIP trunking provider is CBeyond today and we are adding more in the CCA 1.5 release. These are the providers that have been tested and the configuration for these providers is pre populated via a template based on testing done.
Also, if you are looking for a SIP trunking provider over another SPs internet access - there are issues with QoS guarantees, support (now you have 2 SPs) etc

Thanks Maushah! Unfortunately, CBeyond is only available in a few cities at this point. I understand about the QoS issues, but I want to have ways to sell this that doesn't require displacing both a phone system and their high-speed internet access! Options are always good. :)

I have Broadvoice, although they do support BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) they only have tech support for 7940 and 7960 phones, I have configured my router as a SIP gateway with Broadvoice and it works great. I like their open platform approach and they don't have any restrictions on what you use just what they have tech support for.

Thanks! They look interesting. I will check them out.
