Help with transmission times over a 2 gig link.

We are getting 2 GE links that we can etherchannel together between to sites that are across the state from each other. We need to transfer up to 55 terabytes across this link on a one time basis, and the normal latency of the gig link is 8ms.

These two gig ethernet links will be connected to Gig ports on SPA-2X1GE modules on a 7600-SIP-400 blade in a 7604 router at both ends.

Approximately how long will it take to move 55 terabytes across this 2 gig etherchannel? Can it be done over a weekend?

Hi,

One can do the math in various ways, but please consider, if there is a single host sending the data, only a single link will be used. This is because even with etherchannel, to prevent out-of-order packet arrival, one flow sticks to one link all the time.
