Failed ICND, what next !!

Unanswered Question
Nov 6th, 2007

Hi guys just did my ICND today but could not get the required mark ( time the usual culprit and i guess my mind went blank with the simulation question ;-), there was a note that i could retake the exam after the 12th but at the same time i heard that the 6th of Nov(today) was the last day for sitting ICND . Do i have to take the ICND2 640-816 (new sylabus)?? Any ideas before i make some costly decisions ? I took the intro a couple of months ago and passed ..

Sorry dude. Since this exam will no longer be available you have to take both of the new ICND exams (ICND1 & ICND2).

And most likely the prices are more.

I am actually in the same boat as you. I have already passed the INTRO exam months back. I was told by someone else on this forum that all we have to do is take the ICND2. Basically INTRO + ICND2 = CCNA. I have yet to confirm whether or not this is true.

Yes, true!!

----

Q: If I pass the INTRO exam and pass ICND2, will I achieve CCNA certification?

A: Yes. The INTRO 640-821 exam can be combined with the ICND2 640-816 exam to complete CCNA certification for as long as the INTRO exam is valid-up to three years from date that you pass the INTRO exam, per standard policy.

The INTRO 640-821 and ICND 640-811 exams will not be available after November 6, 2007.

Search for "Mix" and "CCNA"

This seems to be the case (ICND2 is very similar to ICND apart from IPV6 and wireless ??). I will call the cisco customer services to clarify and then post the answer here ...CCNA so near yet so far )-:

I'm still trying to find out if wireless is covered on the ICND2 exam. The Cisco Press book for ICND1 has an entire chapter devoted to wireless, but I didn't seem to find any mention of wireless in the Cisco Press book for ICND2.

Hi guys, yes I am in same boat - I have passed my Intro and failed my ICND. Now I am wondering if we can take the new ICND and get the CCNA ? So what I am trying to say is combine Old Intro and new ICND and pass CCNA.

That's correct. If you've already passed the INTRO exam then all you have to do is take and pass the ICND2 exam to gain CCNA.

It's official guys, called the customer service guys today and they confirmed that INTRO + ICND2 = CCNA

(assuming that u passed INTRO already and failed ICND), guy said u can get books/material from cisco press ....checked the curriculum and is not that different from ICND , but better to be safe than sorry, get the materials..

I have a case opened which asks if those of us who have passed the 640-821 INTRO exam but not the 640-811 ICND exam can now take the new 640-822 ICND1 exam and at least get the CCENT.

It is still unresolved as of noon today (11/08/2207).
