We have a Unity server 4.0(2) (in one of our remote sites) that was installed by a vendor. We do not have a copy of the install CDs nor we can contact the vendor. We are looking to upgrade the server to 4.0(5) but at the same time join the server to our AD domain and use the existing Exchange 2003 store - so essentially we will re-install the server. Is there a way to extract or backup the license file fom a working Unity server? If not, how do I tell Cisco that I need a License Key if I cannot present a valid PAK? Appreciate any of your ideas, thanks.

Location of License Files
We strongly recommend that you keep all license files in the CommServer\Licenses directory on the Cisco Unity server. The directory is where the default license file (CiscoUnity.lic) is located. If you store a license file in a different directory, you can install the license file from that location. However, the Install License File wizard will ask if you want to copy the license file to CommServer\Licenses directory.

Hope this helps!
