Third-party SIP phone support in CME?

I found a few threads about 3rd-party SIP phone support in CM...but what about CME? I haven't found any official announcements or documentation on CCO or here in the forums. I'm running CME 4.0 and it definitely doesn't appear to be supported...maybe in a later version though?

Thanks ahead of time.

Hi,

About one year ago, Cisco by word of their CCME TME, had said that "certification of third-party phones was in progress".

Since then, nothing has happened.

However, most models are know to work, at least for basic features.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Good to know. That being said, does anyone who has this working in CME (not CM) have any good links or documentation. Also what version of CME are you running? Documentation (as you would expect) for this seems to be non-existent so far.

Note: if the phone is local to CME LAN, replace the all zeros MAC with actual mac, and no need for username and password.
