LWAPP Upgrade and telnet access

Hello all,

I am trying to upgrade a 1242 AP to LWAPP using the upgrade tool. However, it is telling me the controller is unreachable.

I checked the controller and I am able to telnet into it from the 6500 sup engine, but not from outside the chassis. there are not ACL's associated to the ports and from the controller CLI it shows telnet is enabled.

Has anyone ran into anything like this?

Thanks,

Kendall

If your AP is not on the same subnet of the management interface of the controller, make sure you have route to reach the controller from the AP.

I tested and can ping from the AP (currently in autonomous mode) to the controller management IP.

Can you telnet to the WLC from the platform that you are running the LWAPP upgrade tool from?

Has the Controller been configured to accept Telnet access?
