WIC-1DSU-T1 not recognised in 3845

I have three T1 WIC cards that I am trying to use in my 3845 router. I have done some reading and the only thing I can guess is, I have to have the V2 version of this card to work in this chassis? Please advise.

Hi,

Yes thats true, all the x800 series routers support HWIC (High Speed WICs) Slots and the old WICs are no longer supported on the x800 routers this includes even ISDN BRI and E1/T1 WICs also.

The best idea would be to get VWIC MFTs (or Multiflex VWICs) for T1/E1 and for ISDN BRI to use WIC-1B-S/T-V3 (for S/T) or WIC-1B-U V2 (for U) on 2x00 and 3x00 series routers.

HTH,

Please rate if it helps.

Hi,

that is correct, the ISR routers need the V2 version of the T1 WIC, that is used if you strictly need a full or fractional T1, and no ISDN or voice features.

Else use the VWIC cards as suggested by Samuel.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
