Hi All;

I have a c2600 router with System image file is "flash:c2600-i-mz.123-24.bin running, i'm trying to configure subinterfaces on the device however the device doesn't give me the option to enter the encapsulation or ISL commands hence i can't configure an IP address to the sub-int any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Try this image instead c2600-bin-mz.123-24.bin

Your current image is very basic and does not have IEEE 802.1Q VLAN Support

HTH,

Edit: BTW, the image above requires 16MB flash. If your router only has 8MB flash, I'm afraid you are out of luck. I searched even on the 12.2T (when this feature was introduced) and if you want trunking support, you need 16MB flash.

Now days you can get 16 MEGS flash plus 64 MB DRAM to maxout your 2600 series router very cheap under $40.00 I have seen these in ebay.
