Hello All,

I'm beginning to learn Cisco products now. I have a test lab with 2 routers, and one switch. Now pre-orderd the CCENT book and I've owned the book for about month and a half, and I've seen some people have taken the CCENT already, any advice for which topics hit hard so I can focus on the most?

CDP = Cisco Discovery Protocol

The Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) is a proprietary layer 2 network protocol developed by Cisco Systems which runs on most Cisco and HP equipment and is used to share information about other directly connected Cisco equipment such as the operating system version and IP address.

So, without logging on to a neighboring device, you can learn information about it via CDP.

CDP - Cisco Discovery Protocol. Allows component information to be discovered and displayed on adjacent (Directly connected) components.
