Slow ping

When I ping one of my 2950 from my pc the response time i slow...about 500 ms...again from my pc (different vlan and building) when I ping a pc connected to this switch the response time is 1 ms...when I ping a pc connected to the switch within the switch (telnet) the response time is 500 ms...what's happening ?

Reason is internal scheduling of the software running on the 2950. Responding to ICMP Echo Requests ("ping requests") is probably one of the lowest-priority tasks on the 2950, so we schedule the process that replies to ICMP Echo Requests at a very low priority. Remember, moving packets is Job 1.

Again, this is not an indication of a problem
