I upgraded the IOS today (uBR7100) to ubr7100-boot-mz.123-21a.BC3.bin. Everything seemed to perform fine, I changed the boot system line in the config, it restarted, and now when the reload command is issued the following was noted:

Warning: Attempting to overwrite an NVRAM configuration written

by a full system image. This bootstrap software does not support

the full configuration command set. If you perform this command now,

some configuration commands may be lost.

Overwrite the previous NVRAM configuration?[confirm]n

No action taken because command was not confirmed

Proceed with reload? [confirm]

Also a strange thing is that the hostname should show LAB>

but it shows LAB(boot)>

and no matter what we change the hostname too the (boot) stays. So if we changed it to dude...the screen would say dude(boot)>

I have attached a sh ver, sh run, and the restart.

This usually occurs because the the boot image is at a version level which does not support the port adapter, while the full Cisco IOS image is at a version level which does support the port adapter. This does not hinder the router's performance in any way while the router is up and running the full Cisco IOS version. If the router is in boot mode, however, the port adapter will not be available.

better you upgrade the boot image to the same version level as the main Cisco IOS image
