Unable to remote telnet to a Cat 3548XL

Hi,

I'm trying to set up remote access to a Cat 3548XL using reverse telnet from a Xyplex 1604 Maxserver. I have configured the Xyplex and can access 2600 routers and also Cat 3550 switches without any problem. If I take the console from the 3550 and put it in the 3548 I do not get any response from it. The line on the Xyplex appears OK. I have tried 2 3548's and both do the same. I've tried messing with the line configuration on the Xyplex but getting nowhere.

Has any one had this problem before and resolved it...??

The issue may be with the console configurations or the username and password used to authenticate is not in the remote router database. Check the authentication process.
