what does the "sub" mean in the sh ver output

Johanna, "sub" refers to "sub-model" which is a type of doughter card board installed in a module that has a unique functionality , examples are , PFC or PFC2 cards, inline power cards etc..

The type of sub-model is listed fruther down when you issue " show module " , notice the output of "Sub-model " field from the output of show module at the very end, and that will indicate the "sub-model" type corresponding to module slot number.
