Dear All,

I have a Cisco 6500 catOs Version 8.2(2), the rack where 6500 is placed is a disaster a lot of rj45 cables it seems like a jungle.

The 6500 has the following modules:

N2 WS-X6K-SUP2-2GE with WS-F6K-MSFC2

N1 WS-X6224-100FX-MT

N4 WS-X6248-RJ-45

N2 WS-X6248-TEL

I'd like to know which ports are in use in the modules WS-X6248-RJ-45, WS-X6248-TEL,there is some port usage statistics?

Thanks in advance, best regards.

Igor.

Hi,

You can use the "show mac" command to get total packets received/transmitted and "show mac utilization" to get the last 5 minute traffic rate.

You could use SNMP to view the last time the port status changed. The OID is .1.3.6.1.4.1.3076.2.1.2.17.1.1.0

Tools such as Solarwinds Engineer Toolset make this much easier.

HTH and please rate.

Many thanks for your reply, the SNMP is a good way to approch the problem but require an additional software.

I 'd like to know if there is some utility in the CatOs to do this job.

Best regards,

Igor.

Not that I know. There are free SNMP Managers out there too.
