I have set up my access point (Cisco Aironet 1200) by assigning IP address, SM, DG, DNS. I have also setup my Wireless Client LAN adapater card with its own IP Address, SM (Same as access point),DG (Same as access point), DNS (Same as access point). I am getting the connection signal on my Laptop but I can not browse. I checked on the ADU utility (Installed on Laptop)and all the tests are OK (Meaning all the connections are OK). When I check on the management tool for the access point (Using my browse) I found this error message: Interface Dot11Radio0, Deauthenticating Station 0040.96ad.3676 Reason: Disassociated because sending station is leaving (or has left) BSS

Please help. How can I resolve this problem

I have seen this error when I had a Netgear client adapter the two do not get along. So if you do not have a client adapter that is Cisco based like Linksys etc, then that could be why. The only way to fix was to boot the AP and then it would just run through that same error five to ten minutes later.

The adapter I am using is the Cisco Aironet 802.11a/b/g WIRELESS ADAPTER. Could it also be a problem of some interference ?

I'm sorry I should have been more clear-

Did you try to ping it from the wired side?

If you cannot ping from the wired side, you haven't even made it to the radio yet to have interference.

Once you have tracked down this issue and are able to ping from the wired side, then see if you associate (layer 2) and authenticate (layer 3).

let us know how far you get

Sorry man,

association to the AP occurs at layer 2 of the OSI. This is the ssid. The ssid on the radio and the client card need to match. Then authentication ( wep, wpa-psk, whatever)occurs at layer 3.

First I would remove all security from both and set it up default to see if you can connect with just an ssid and no security.

basically you start over from zero and build it back up until it either breaks again or you are successful.

I removed all the security from both. I still cant browse. The Link quality is showing as Excellent and the connection status shows the SSID, Access point name and the Access Point IP Address. The current Receive/Transmit Rate 54.o Mbps

Ok this is kind of thin but here goes...

Can you browse from the Wired side? If not console in and look for 'no http server' or something like that towards the end of the config. This effectively shuts down http and wont let you browse.

basically type the command in without the 'no' and save it and then see what happens

no ip http server...

The fix is :

config t

ip http server

copy run start

I'm pretty sure that's it...

No I can not browse on the wired side

Please confirm that I do the following:

1. Connect the AP to Laptop (Console port)

2. Connect using HyperTerminal

3. Type on Command prompt:

config t

ip http server

copy run start

actually first type in

show run

and then see if you find

no ip http server

down towards the end of the config...

if it is there then by all means proceed.

This is an IOS autonomous AP, right? If it is LWAPP that's a problem...please list the version of code.

You can get to a config prompt (config #)and change the config, but you can't see the config.

Hmmm. Sounds like your boned until you can get the config.

Or you can type the command in anyway and see what happens...don't forget to save it if you do

I executed the command: copy run start and I am now prompted for:

Destination filename [startup-config]?

What should I type ?
