Dear Cisco support/experts,
I was wondering how to configure the Cisco PIX 501 to directly notify me about hacking attempts/errors etc. by email or other "direct" method so that I won't need to check the status every day.

I think email alerts cannot be configured through the pix , you can do it thorugh IDS.
