Hi Guys
i have a problem propagating vlan info to a new switch added to a vtp domain.
from reading earlier posts, it would appear the problem lies with inconsistent vtp passwords ie the new switch differs (although not having configured one).
Is there a command to view current vtp password?
If not, do I simply change all vtp passwords on each switch in domain, starting with server?
If so, are there any potential problems whilst I do this?
Thanks in advance

Type "show vtp password" on device acting as your vtp server.

Get into the vlan database on the device and look for it there .

Your are right. Passwords have to match on all switches participating in same vtp domain.
You may prefer changing passwords, doesnt foresee any problem.
Crosscheck the encaps on both sides of trunk & vtp domains on all switches prior to changing pwd.
