Another example why these irk me:

1. Which two statements about the functions of a hub are accurate? (Choose two.)

A. A hub extends an Ethernet LAN.

B. A hub reduces the size of a collision domain.

C. Adding a hub eliminates the need for users on a network segment to compete for the same bandwidth.

D. A hub is a data link layer device.

E. A hub amplifies the data signal before retransmitting it.

I answered A and E

The correct answer was A and C

I have this problem too.

I don't think C is a valid answer, a hub place users in the same collision domain, which means they are actually using the same bandwidth.

Was this taken from the infamous TestKing practice tests?...

Uh, no. This is directly from... Cisco's own CCNA Prep Center page for the new ICND1 exam test questions.

Even Cisco states that the practice questions do not simulate the actual exam. To some extent, I actually welcome questions that are wrong because it forces me to learn the technology & not just memorize questions, which is too easy to do. I used trancender for my practice tests and I found tons of errors. It is a pain, but because of it I did learn how things really work.
