what will happen if router 99% CPU load over extended period

I know router CPU load reaching 99% is a bad situation.

I would like to know if this situation continues, what will likely happen?

Likely situations are:

1. Slow Performance

Services on the Router fails to Respond:

>>Slow Response in Telnet or unable to Telnet

>>Slow Response to Console

>>Slow or No Response to Ping

>>Router doesnot send Routing Updates to other Routers
