bgp signalled qos not working on 7600

Hi all,

I am having problems getting bgp qos to work on 7600 running RSP 720 with SRB1.

Relevant config as follows:

bgp-policy destination ip-prec-map - applied on relevant interfaces

table-map bgp-qos-table - defined under address-family ipv4

route-map defined:

route-map bgp-qos-table permit 10

match community 1

set ip precedence flash-override

ip community list:

ip community-list 1 permit xxxx:xxxx

show ip route output:

show ip route x.x.x.x

Routing entry for x.x.x.x/32

Known via "bgp XXXX", distance 200, metric 0, precedence flash-override (4), type internal

Last update from x.x.x.x 7w0d ago

Routing Descriptor Blocks:

* x.x.x.x, from x.x.x.x, 7w0d ago

Route metric is 0, traffic share count is 1

AS Hops 0

show ip cef x.x.x.x detail

x.x.x.x/32, epoch 11

QOS: Precedence flash-override (4)

NetFlow: Origin AS 0, Peer AS 0, Mask Bits 32

So, it appears that things are working on the surface, however packets being sent through the router (and arriving on interfaces with the prec-map command enabled) are not being marked correctly.

The interfaces in question are on a SIP-400 card (gigE). We have observed this problem on other line cards (48 port GE and 10/100 line cards - don't have the exact line card versions atm).

Does anybody know of any restrictions with bgp qos on 7600?

We have verified there are no markings by sniffing at various points in the network (including mirrored ports on egress from the router that should be doing the marking).

Any feedback much appreciated..

Anton, per FN the feature is not supported for 7600. Please check with your Cisco rep for more details.

Thanks Swaroop, do you know what is the best way to find out if the feature has any chance of being supported in the future for 7600?

Anton, for any hw support queries and road map. it best to always check with the account SE from Cisco.

He would be having a more appropriate answer than any one from outside Cisco.

HTH-Cheers,

Swaroop
