snmpv3 user not displayed in running configuration

Hello,

while planning snmpv3 migration of our cisco components I found out that the "snmp-server user" commands are not shown in the running or startup configuration.

Does somebody know what is the reason for that special behaviour?

Because of this behaviour we have an issue in our system recovery process for exchanging faulty hardware:

Next to the normal restore of the centrally organized configuration backup it is necessary to manually enter the "snmp-server user" commands to make the component accessible via snmp.

Does anybody know if it's possible to let ios/catos add the snmp user configuration in the normal configuration file?

If not is there another workaround to prevent manual command input while restoring a system?

Best Regards,

Thorsten

To configure a name for either the local or remote Simple Network Management Protocol engine on the router, use the snmp-server engineID global configuration command. To remove the configured engine ID, use the no form of this command .

snmp-server engineID [local engineid-string] | [remote ip-address udp-port port engineid-string]
